About Our Services

Q: What services do you offer?

We provide personalized financial planning and investment advisory services, including retirement income strategies, tax-efficient investing, education funding, risk management, and legacy planning.

Q: Are you a fiduciary?

Yes. As an independent Registered Investment Advisor (RIA), we are legally obligated to act in your best interest at all times.

Q: Who do you typically serve?

We work with individuals, families, and business owners who value holistic, goal-driven financial guidance often those approaching or living in retirement, or navigating complex financial decisions.

Investment Management & Planning

Q: What is your investment philosophy?

Our investment approach is long-term, diversified, and rooted in evidence-based strategies. We prioritize risk management, cost-efficiency, and alignment with your goals and values.

Q: Do you offer tax-efficient investing?

Yes. We consider tax implications in our planning and portfolio construction, and we can collaborate with your CPA to create a coordinated plan.

Q: Do you offer socially responsible (ESG) investing options?

Absolutely. For clients who prefer to align investments with their values, we offer ESG and other impact-driven portfolios.

Fees & Engagement

Q: How do you charge for your services?

We are a fee-only advisory firm. Our compensation typically comes from a percentage of assets under management (AUM) or a flat planning fee. We do not earn commissions from product sales.

Q: Will I be locked into a contract?

No. You are free to end our relationship at any time. We believe in earning your trust, not requiring it.

Q: What does the first meeting look like?

The initial consultation is complimentary. We’ll discuss your goals, financial picture, and whether we’re a good fit to work together.

Technology & Accessibility

Q: Can we work together virtually?

Yes. We serve clients nationwide through secure video calls, digital document sharing, and online account access.

Q: How is my data protected?

We use secure platforms and industry-standard encryption to protect your personal and financial information.

  • What are your prices?

We operate with streamlined, transparent pricing. No hidden fees, no surprise costs! You can see a full list of our services and pricing by clicking here.

  • How do you bill your clients?

We invoice quarterly and send you a simplified invoice that is paid from your investment accounts. The transaction is reported to you by your independent custodian, so you can verify the amount. Between our quarterly invoice and your independent account statements, you’ll be able to determine exactly how much you are spending.

  • Do I have to commit to a certain amount of time to work with you?

Nope! We believe that our clients should be able to disengage at any point they’re unsatisfied with services or decide to go another direction with their financial management.

  • Do you have an asset minimum for clients to work with you?

We have 2 service options for our clients, and each has a different account minimum. For the first option, Investment Management, the minimum total investment assets for the entire household must be at least $500,000. For our second option, Wealth Management, this offering is most appropriate for clients who have at least $1,000,000 in investable assets.

  • Are you a Fee-Only advisor?

Yes, we are a Fee-only firm. That means the only compensation we receive is from our clients, as described clearly above. In contrast to brokers and traditional commission-based advisors who claim to offer something for nothing (“free advice”), we accept no (zero, zip, nada) hidden commissions or similar incentives from other influencers who may distract us from serving our clients’ best interests – and only their best interests – with dedicated, fiduciary levels of care.

  • Are you a CFP® and what does that mean?

Yes, Greg Brown is a full CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ (CFP®). Only those who have fulfilled the certification and renewal requirements of CFP Board can display the CFP® certification marks, which represent a high level of competency, ethics and professionalism.

For example, CFP® professionals must pass a comprehensive, 7-hour Board exam, with an average pass rate of only 56%, and maintain 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years. Additionally, CFP® professionals must have a minimum of 3 years of experience (we currently have more than 15 years of experience serving clients at Pathway) and are required by strict ethical standards to put your interests in front of our own.

  • What’s your investment philosophy?

At the heart of our approach is a commitment to heeding the evidence on how to build wealth in ever-volatile markets. Insights from decades of hard-working scholars and practitioners alike shape our simple, evidence-based investment strategy. Instead of trying to manage the entire market – seeking to control random global events, forecast future market movements or pick particular stocks – investors are best served by managing the factors that are within their control.

  • Are you a fiduciary?

Yes, we are a fiduciary to our clients – proudly, absolutely, and in writing. Why does this matter? As your fiduciary advisor, we have a clearly defined legal obligation to always and exclusively act in your highest interests, even ahead of our own.

  • How often do we meet if I become a client?

This depends on which service option you choose. For our first option, Investment Management, we will meet with you virtually–over the telephone with screen-share or via Zoom video call–to go over our investment recommendations and answer any questions you may have. After that, we are available via telephone, email, and Zoom video meetings whenever you need to speak with us.

For our second option, Wealth Management, we typically meet at least annually with our clients – more frequently if your circumstances warrant.
